2016 Haciendas – A Parade of Homes Preview

Haciendas – A Parade of Homes is unlike any other parade of homes in the country. The event, presented by the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association, is spread over two long weekends in mid-August every year. Visitors from all over the world travel to this event to experience Santa Fe’s famed historic architecture showcasing indigenous materials and local craftsmanship.

We are proud to be named the recipient of the coveted 2015 Grand Hacienda award for our project on Camino Escondido. We also took home four Sponsored Awards and two Green Awards at last year’s event. This year, we will feature two homes: 1133 East Alameda and 2216 Wilderness Arroyo.

1133 East Alameda is a collaboration between Woods Design Builders and our friends at Violante & Rochford Interiors. This remodel of Michael Violante and Paul Rochford’s personal home pairs our architectural style and expert craftsmanship with the homeowner’s eye for design. Thick plastered walls and divided light windows give the home a historic feel, while the interiors reflect a contemporary take on Santa Fe style. Fun fact: A century-old tree is the focal point of this home’s beautiful interior courtyard!

2216 Wilderness Arroyo is a complete gut remodel with the addition of 2,000 square feet of living space including a dining room, family room, wine room, and a master wing with a balcony. This classic, Woods-style pueblo residence nestles comfortably into the foot of the mountains, steps from the Atalaya Trail, and is the ultimate home for entertaining. Classic Woods touches include diamond plaster walls, custom cabinetry, scorped beams, expansive windows and portals overlooking stunning mountain and city views, an antique limestone fireplace surround, and one-of-a-kind antique doors.
